Denise (Whiting) Shope, RN, MHSA, ARM, CPHRM, FASHRM has over 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry. She is an experienced healthcare risk manager, nurse, and insurance professional. She is currently a risk management consultant with RCM&D in Baltimore where she provides expertise in enterprise risk management. Denise is chairing ASHRM's Enterprise Risk Management Advisory Committee. She is part of the ASHRM faculty for their ERM Certificate program and Healthcare Risk Management Certificate program. She will be the incoming President for ASHRM in 2019.

Prior to joining RCM&D, Denise began her career as a registered staff nurse at Geisinger Medical Center, and then progressed through several advancements, including the position of Risk Manager. After several years at PHICO Insurance Company as a risk and safety consultant, Denise returned to Geisinger Health System as the Systems Director of Performance Improvement and Risk Management.
