Sometimes simple changes can have a powerful impact. At least, that's what the folks at Brigham & Women's Faulkner Hospital learned after adding two new fields within the safety reporting system just prior to implementing EPIC. To their surprise surprise, weekly safety reporting and safety reporting engagement from front line staff increased by 25% at a community hospital in Boston, MA.
In this presentation, participants will learn how simple changes were made to allow tracking of incidents related to the implementation of the new EHR including the impact of new workflow changes. What's more, this presentation will share tips on how to leverage safety reporting data and partnerships with staff and leadership to support maximizing patient safety improvements during a period of rapid change within the organization.
